Stunning 19th century European cast iron hanging oil lamp.

Finely wrought metal oil lamp decorated with stags heads.  The font is ceramic with a brass burner, and the font itself is removable from the cradle.  It can be carried or it can stand on its own.  Big and beautiful white milk glass shade is free from damage.

The construction of this piece indicates that it was made in the latter half of the 19th century, probably in Europe, and almost certainly in Germany.  I cannot find any maker's marks on the piece.

Lovely condition with no damage to the glass or the stag motifs.  Some of the supporting arms have been rewelded in their history, but the welds are neat and strong.  I have not had the lamp filled nor lit, but everything appears to be in working order.

The entire apparatus is approximately 104cm from the hook to the base, and the shade is 30cm in diameter at its widest.
