The name of the sake, Echigo Tsurukame, is the old name of Niigata Prefecture, where the brewery is located, as well as Tsurukame, a symbol of longevity and congratulations. The design is colorful and traditional, featuring the Chinese character for "Echigo-Tsurukame" and the congratulatory crane, turtle, pine, bamboo, and plum.
The core material of the decorative barrel is styrofoam, so it cannot be filled with alcohol or opened by Kagami-biraki.
