Unusual find, one of the oldest we have ever offered. Lot of TWO antique baby rattle whistles, ALL original patina, dates from late 1700's to mid 1800's between the Revolutionary to Civil War according to research.
- Round one: Embossed heraldic eagle on each side is similar to that of the coinage of that era.
- Embossed inscription "For a Good Child" on each side of the rattle, and the alphabet is embossed in a double row along the side. Original handle and "rattles" when shook as shown in Video. Measures approx 5-1/2" x 1-7/8" x 1". There is a wooden stick inside the handle, presumable for added strength, with string at the end, and the area where handle is attached is slightly brighter tin.
- BARREL shape: rattles well, approx 5-1/2", 2 hole whistle
- Hard-to-find, interesting pieces for your antique toy collection.

I entrusted my mother and father's (Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz) memorabilia to Connectibles, and during the entire evaluation and auction process, never for a moment did I feel anything less than completely confident, protected and guided by experienced and compassionate professionals who love what they do. We got wonderful results and the best part... it was great fun!"
