1920's pliers sold by Damon Raike Co. Chicago, double stamped as shown around the pivot saying Chicago and, on the handle, saying Germany.

  • Damon Raike Co. started in early 1920's in Chicago, Illinois.
    • Damon Raike Sr. had tools manufactured and imported from Germany.  
  • Tools were made under the Daraike name for only a short time (approximately 2 years)
    •  The Fordney-McCumber Tariff of 1922 made importing goods too costly.
  • By 1930, Damon had started a printing business named Schenker Co. until he died.
  • Death: June 1945 in Cook County, Ill.
