Creil & Montereau L'ADROITE PRINCESSE 8" Faience Plate France Black & White
Stunning yet funny faience plate by L & Cie, Creil & Montereau, France. This plate is titled "L' adroite Princesse" (the skillful Princess ?) and is numbered "7" I believe that it is from a series based on fairy tales rewritten by Charles Perrault. I most likely dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's, but I can not find this particular mark to be certain. It has signatures on the front, below the scene (shown in last 2 photos). If you have any information, I would love to know.
Condition is wonderful! There are no chips, cracks, repairs or stains. There is what looks like a tiny divet on the edge, but it is under the shiny glaze so it is from manufacture.
