For sale is a very nice vintage Timex LCD digital watch. Below are details about the watch and the condition it is in, please view this information thoroughly before purchasing the watch.
- Brand: Timex
- Model: Unspecified
- Movement Type: Quartz
- Case Diameter/Width: 33.6mm
- Crystal Diameter/Dimensions: 29.4mm x 16mm
- Lug Width: 19mm
- Band Type: Metal stretch band. Band stretches and should fit a majority of wrist sizes.
- Water Resistance Rating: Unspecified
- Performance: Not working. Movement shows no immediate signs of corrosion, but the watch simply would not run when supplied with a fresh battery. It could be I was using the wrong type of battery, but I could not get it to run. Sold as-is for parts/repair. One of the side buttons appears to not press in either.
- Overall condition: Great. Crystal has some noteworthy scratches but is still clear enough to not impede visibility of the dial. Case has a few small scuff marks and dings here and there
- Other Notes: Rare model, I've not this shape/model with a red dial before. Normally it's black on gold or black on silver. Band top caps are 10k rolled gold plated, case is assumed to be gold plated/electroplated but I can't confirm that with certainty
Disclaimers:
Overall condition is based off my personal assessment of the watch, and may not be 100% reflective of how you'd assess the watch yourself. Please view the provided images closely to inspect the condition for yourself, and understand there may be some wear that doesn't show up well in pictures. I always try to take many pictures of the watches I'm selling, as well as close ups of the crystal and case. If you have any questions regarding specifics of the watch condition, please feel free to ask!
A vast majority of the pre-owned watches I get come to me with some amount of grime on them. If this grime is notable, I will gently clean it off with isopropyl alcohol. However, I do not deep clean the watches. There may still be grime on the watch, especially in hard to clean spots such as between band links or between the lugs.
For watches that use batteries, I only use proper silver oxide 1.55 volt watch batteries, NOT cheap 1.5 volt mercury batteries. This doesn't apply to some digital watches that specifically use 1.5 volt coin cell batteries, such as a majority of Casio G-Shocks. Batteries are fresh as of the time of listing the watches unless otherwise noted, based on how long the watch has been listed the time before having to replace the battery once you obtain it varies.
For watches that have water-resistance ratings, I would recommend against diving with them until you have a professional reseal the watch and replace the gasket.
