Antique Great Western Railway cast iron waiting room oil lamp.

Gorgeous dual-wick, antique cast iron oil lamp from the Victorian age.  These oil lamps would have illuminated the waiting rooms of the Great Western Railway company.  The base of this elegant lamp is black-painted cast iron, from which the brass font unscrews.  The white glass globe shade may be a replacement, but it is a replacement from the period.  It is thick, heavy, milk-white glass; and not a thin, modern reproduction.  "GWR" for Great Western Railway is imprinted in the metal on the base.  Just a stunning piece, looking just as it would have in its Victorian heyday.

I've not had it filled nor lit, but everything appears to be in working order.  I have left the natural patina on the brass, and I have not re-polished it.  The wick-raiser knobs slip slightly on the wick, but this could be rectified with a new wick.  Minor nicks to the rims of the shade in keeping with its age, but overall lovely condition.

Lamp is 60cm tall with chimney, and 39cm tall without.  Base is 16.5cm in diameter.
