After studying many artists that utilise ink in their work I have took that knowledge on technique and form and I am starting to create artworks that reflect my own style and energy.
I sign my work In keeping with the Japanese way of signing artwork, by the utilisation of hand crafted stamps made from stone with the artists individual mark. This way of signing is far more secure as any forger would have to carve a stamp with exactly the same miniscule marks and indentations that is on my stamp. Far harder to do than forging a signature. My signature stamp is engraved with the letter V for Vital and has many little individual marks that only my stamp has. Its a bit different also and makes my work stand out from the crowd.
For my ink wash paintings i have adopted the technique of making my own ink instead of using bottled ink. Fresh ground ink is far superior, keeps its contrast and does not fade. Japanese painters have used this type of ink for a thousand years and it looks as good today as the day it was made.
I am a full time artist not a hobbyist & I will continue to make art in my own studio.
I prefer to sell on EBay as the fee's in galleries are excessive to say the least.
I am preparing for a solo exhibition next year.
