Product Description:

Listing Update...This is not so much an update as it is a brief comment about the computers and related parts I have available for sale. Personal computers (and in particular desktop computers) have always been a hobby of mine. I've enjoyed tinkering with this stuff over the years and have accumulated a number of items during this time...some new and some used. I am not an expert on the subject...more of an enthusiast...but I will still do my best to answer any questions as it relates to my computer related listings. Thank you.

Original Listing...
This offering is for a new AMD Ryzen 5 Model 2600X (6 cores / 12 threads) processor with second generation (Zen+) micro-architecture. It was AMD's best second generation Ryzen 5 processor and was released in 2018. For those that are interested, AMD's first generation (Zen) Ryzen 1XXX series processors launched in 2017...and this date is often referred to as "Ground Zero" for the modern day "Arms Race" between AMD and Intel (to see who can make a better processor).

These Ryzen 2600X offerings are better than their first generation (Ryzen 1600X) descendants. There is a modest clock speed improvement (3.6 MHz to 3.6 MHz) on the "base" and (4.0 MHz to 4.2 MHz) on the "boost". The other performance improvements include more efficient power consumption, a modest increase in IPC (Instructions Per Cycle/Clock), an update to Precision Boost 2 for more responsive clock speed increases, faster cache memory and a controller capable of supporting faster RAM.

Some of the more notable features include the following...

  • Cores / Threads: 6 / 12

  • Clock Speed: 3.6 GHz (Base) and 4.2 GHz (Boost)

  • Die Size: 12 nm

  • CPU Socket: AM4

  • Codename / Micro-Architecture: Pinnacle Ridge / Zen+

  • Cache (L1 / L2 / L3): 576 KB / 3 MB / 16 MB

  • TDP: 95W

  • Thermal Solution: Wraith Spire Cooler (included)

  • Other Notes: One of the benefits of these processors is their compatibility with older 300 and 400-series motherboards. If I could choose, I would opt for a B350 or B450 motherboard to pair with this processor. It would not have to be a high-end variant of one of these motherboards, as this is a relatively low powered processor. I just like the feature set of the B-series motherboards a lot better than the stripped down A-series motherboards. As for the top-end X-series motherboards compatible with this processor, that's really not necessary, especially at a higher cost relative to B-series alternatives.

Having said all the above, I do want to confirm these processors on my shelf are new and still sealed in their original retail box. So a factory new Wraith Spire cooler will also be included with each one of these processors. I can also confirm the pictures reflect the next (actual) processor to be sold and this includes close-up images of the processor UPC code and serial number. I'll end up listing them one-at-a-time, because I am not sure yet how many more I may use in computer builds at a later date. Listing Update...This is the last Ryzen 5 Model 2600X that I have available to sell.

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
