2016 National Parks, San Francisco Mint "Quarter Mania Set," Uncirculated & Gold Layered--Not for Circulation!

Beginning in 2010, the US Mint introduced a new National Park Quarters program celebrating our nation’s most beautiful and historic locations. While the quarter’s obverse retains a portrait of George Washington, the series featured five new and unique reverse designs each year from 2010-2020, with one final design in 2021 for a total of 56 different designs. (One for each state, DC, and 5 U.S. Territories.)  The designs were released about every 10 weeks, in the order that the locations had been designated National sites.

The San Francisco minted coins are UNCIRCULATED and were struck in limited mintages each year for the duration of the program, which ended in 2021. The coins were released in a variety of finishes as described in the COA provided with the boxed coins.

This listing is for one box of National Parks Quarters containing 2 slabs, one clad and one gold-layered, each holding 5 coins for a total of 10 coins altogether. The box is identified "2016, State Quarters Series 2, San Francisco, UNCIRCULATED, 24 KARAT GOLD CLAD."

Featured National Parks/sites for the year 2016 are Shawnee, IL; Cumberland Gap, KY; Harpers Ferry WV; Theo Roosevelt, ND; Fort Moultrie, SC.
