This listing is for an authentic vintage sample of antique corn planter check row wire.   This wire features a Franklin August Rose patent dated April 28, 1885.  This trip is called Rose's Paper Clip Splicing Link" by collectors.  (ref. Goedert & Greer #197.).    This trip or knot is made of wire with overlapping at one end.   At this end both sides of link are flat.  These were bought by the small box and used to make repairs or splices in the wire.   The link was used to maintain interval in the planting.   Sample is at least 18" in length. Trip is well centered in sample.   Wire is in good used condition.
