The poem tells about the epic journey of a victorious Cossack band led by Aeneas from Troy to the Latin region. The edition is accompanied by modern cultural and historical intelligence and comments. The story, confirmed by hitherto little-known authentic illustrations, is full of pearls of folk poetry. It should be noted separately the excellent printing of the gift edition, richly illustrated in a burlesque-travesty style and intended for a wide range of readers.
