This is a pair of vintage artisan/handmade dolls, male and female, with original handmade costumes. Each appears to be made of fabric over a thin wooden skeleton or form and attached to a wooden base. The female is 9 1/2" tall and the male is 9 3/4" tall. They appear to be of Hispanic/Latino ancestry. Clothing/costumes are cinched into place with thread or straight-pinned in place. The faces are beautifully hand painted. The woman is quite detailed with a sweet face and wavy life-like hair. Her accessories include earrings, a small basket, 2 bracelets, and two strings of candles. The man likewise has a pleasant expression and is formally dressed. His hair is short and fuzzy.
