How does it work?
Smartwares RM218 Smoke Detector is equipped with an optical sensor and is BSI certified. An optical sensor reacts quickly to smouldering fires and has less false alarms than other types of smoke detectors. The RM218 Smoke Detector features a high quality 10 year lithium battery which means you will never have to change the battery. After 10 years, we recommend that you buy a new detector.
At 8cm in diameter, this smoke detector can be placed discretely in key locations and should a fire be detected, the alarm will sound at a loud 85 decibels to alert you.
Maintenance
It is important to check your smoke detector regularly using the test button to check the battery and alarm. This button can also be used to silence the smoke detector in the event of a false alarm. The smoke alarm should be tested monthly and if the battery is running low, the smoke detector will emit a short beep alerting you to replace it.
Installation
The Smartwares RM218 Smoke Detector is wireless and surface mounted meaning you are free to place them anywhere. You will receive all mounting materials and an instruction manual to assist your installation.
We recommended that you place at least one smoke detector on every floor of your home/property in locations such as hallways, near staircases and in bedrooms, especially children’s bedrooms.
