I believe this was the first day that I was brave enough to take my "new" used camera and lens out in the kayak. Not being an experienced kayaker and only have taken a little bit of gear out for a test run or two it was a bit worrisome. This photo is from the first time I had seen an osprey hunting, I only recall seeing one other osprey before it that was perched along a roadway earlier in the year. This photo was taken with manual focus and no vibration control (because I couldn't afford a wildlife lens with working electronics!) from a river kayak on a wisconsin lake. It was the birds second attempt (it was 2 for 2 this day); when zoomed in as seen in the cropped preview photo above, the patchy outline of the fish can be seen. It appears to me to be a sunfish!
