Antique Kestner Bisque Doll Composition Body Ball-Jointed 18 inches long--Circa 1900. Made in Germany by JD Kestner company that made dolls in Walterhausen, Thuringia region of Germany from 1820 to 1936.  Mold number is 129: Germany II (embedded in back of her skill).  In sienna ink at her lower waistline on the right side above her right buttocks is imprinted:  Excelsior D.R.P. 70885 Germany 2.  This red headed beauty is in good shape for being possibly 123 year's old.  Her hair color is divine light red with long tubular curls all over her head. Lovely. Eyes are brown and sparkle and has brushed on eyebrows with individual strokes on the brows. Eyelashes both lower and upper are painted on. Rosy cheeks and a rosebud mouth that is slightly open and one can see perfectly formed white teeth.  Entire body is composition--face is bisque/porcelain. Arms and legs are Ball Jointed.  Hands and fingers show some wear...photos show these areas. Another area to be aware of is on the body by the neck both front and back--small hairline small cracks to be expected from age. She is wearing a very pale yellow long dress with a white petticoat and pantaloons with a crocheted bottom. All cotton. She is wearing one sock and matching shoes of a light tan suede-like material (shoes are newer).  She IS lovely.  Perfect to add your collection.
