Product Description:

Listing Update...This is not so much an update as it is a brief comment about the computers and related parts I have available for sale. Personal computers (and in particular desktop computers) have always been a hobby of mine. I've enjoyed tinkering with this stuff over the years and have accumulated a number of items during this time...some new and some used. I am not an expert on the subject...more of an enthusiast...but I will still do my best to answer any questions as it relates to my computer related listings. Thank you.

Original Listing...
This offering is for a new Rosewill (Model FBM-X2) mini tower computer case. This is an entry-level case, but after building in a number of different inexpensive cases, I like this one as well or better than most. For a relatively small case, the expansion options are respectable. There is one internal 3.5" drive bay/mount (for a hard drive), three internal 2.5" drive bays/mounts (for SSDs) and four expansion slots. The case does have its limits, as there is no power supply shroud, no dvd drive cage, limited cable management options, etc., but it's still a fairly well designed and constructed entry-level offering. I guess I just like its simplicity, with the steel side panels and a plastic front panel/bezel that is not paper thin. The result of which is a surprisingly sturdy case, especially at this price point. I should also mention there is one Rosewill 120 mm case fan (mounted at the rear for exhaust).

Having said all of the above, I thought it might also be helpful if I shared a spec. sheet of sorts that highlights some of the primary computer case features:

  • Basic Description (type/color): Mini tower with a ventilated top and bottom (the latter for a power supply), and a dark gray/black finish

  • Case Material: mostly steel (including both side panels) with a solid plastic front panel/bezel that is vented on both sides

  • Motherboard Compatibility: Micro ATX and Mini ITX

  • Dimensions (H x W x D): 15.0" x 7.5" x 13.8"

  • Weight: 9.7 lbs.

  • Front Panel Ports: two black USB Type-A (2.0 running at 480 Mb/s), one blue USB Type-A (3.2 Gen 1 running at 5 Gb/s), an audio input (microphone) and an audio output (speaker/headphone)...there is also a hard drive LED (red), an on/off button with a blue LED indicator and a reset button

  • Expansion: One internal 3.5" drive bay/mount, three internal 2.5" drive bays/mounts and four expansion slots

  • Fan Options: Front (2 x 120 mm), top (2 x 120 mm) and rear (1 x 120 mm included)

  • Radiator Options (max size): Top (240 mm)

  • Other: There is a removable filter on the bottom of the case (under which the power supply fan will be positioned). This will need to be removed and cleaned periodically to keep good (cool) airflow entering into the power supply unit.

In terms of condition, this is a new case and will be shipped in its original box with all the factory foam packing to ensure safe transit. I am calling it an "open box" unit, because I pulled it out of the box and inspected it for any problems or defects (in anticipation that I would use for a customer build). The case looks good, but I probably have a few more of these cases than I really need at the moment. So I'll make some of them available at what is essentially my cost. I can also confirm the case has its full complement of accessories in a small plastic bag that will be anchored with a twist tie (and is visible in one of the pictures above).

Note to domestic customers regarding oversized package shipping...
For domestic packages, FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery Service generally offers the lowest ground shipping rate for oversized packages in the continental US (i.e., the "Lower 48"). My domestic shipping costs to Alaska, Hawaii and the US Territories are much higher. It's also worth noting if cost is not as much of an issue (or if you prefer US Postal Services "USPS" over FedEx), then USPS Priority Mail service is generally the most timely of the domestic shipping options.

Note to international customers regarding oversized package shipping...
International shipping requirements vary for larger packages (including size limitations from country to country). As a result, international customers should contact us before purchasing larger items. We are then able to research shipping options to determine if we are able to ship a particular oversized item to your country and then provide an accurate shipping quote. This way we will avoid any confusion or misunderstanding with respect to international shipping of oversized packages.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
