Anticlockwise Rotation

Stabilizer test:

The stabilizer works best upright, so position the cluster vertically.

1. Remove the wire(s) from "I" at the stabilizer (light green in picture).

2. Make sure that the cluster housing is grounded, battery (-), at the center tab (black wire in picture).

3. Make sure that the stabilizer housing is grounded to the cluster housing.

4. Make sure that the stabilizer "B" lug is connected to +12 V from key switch at ON-position (red wire in picture).

5. Turn the key switch to ON-position.

6. Measure the voltage between "I" and ground.

You may need to tap the stabilizer gently with a screwdriver, to get it going.

The voltage at "I" is a bit odd to measure with a standard digital multimeter, the values will change and flicker. An anolog "needle" meter should work better.

If the voltage is steady 0 or 12V, the stabilizer is bad.

Gauge test:

If removed, reconnect the wire(s) to "I" at the stabilizer, (light green in picture).

The stabilizer works best upright, so position the cluster vertically.

1. Make sure that the cluster housing is grounded, battery (-), at the center tab (black wire in picture).

2. Make sure that the stabilizer housing is grounded to the cluster housing.

3. Make sure that the stabilizer "B" lug is connected to +12 V from key switch at ON-position (red wire in picture).

4. Disconnect the fuel sender wire from the fuel gauge lug (dark green wire in picture).

5. Disconnect the temperature sender wire from the temperature gauge lug (dark blue wire in picture).

6. Take a jumper wire and connect one end to ground and the other end to the free tab at the fuel gauge.

7. Turn on the key switch.

8. Watch the fuel gauge, the needle should slowly move to full.

9. Turn off the key switch.

10. Connect the jumper wire between ground and the free tab at the temperature gauge.

11. Turn on the key switch.

12. Watch the temperature gauge, the needle should slowly move to full.

You need to wait a while before a gauge needle starts moving.
