Steinberger is the signature Headless Guitar/Bass brand loved by many musicians and was originally founded in 1980 by furniture designer Ned Steinberger.

Mr. Ned started designing musical instruments as a result of his acquaintance with Stuart Spector before founding the company, and he is also known for designing beautiful bodies for Spector's signature NS series models in the late 1970s. (NS = Ned Steinberger's initials)

Ned broke with the conventional wisdom of electric guitar/bass, adopted double-ball end strings, and realized a revolutionary headless structure, creating the headless bass "L2" that everyone has to pay attention to, creating the headless boom symbolized in the 80's, evolving further with the passage of time, and being loved by many guitar/bass players to this day.
