Description

In 1960, Schlitz launched the 24 oz Tall Boy beer can.  The company introduced the cans with a series of animated television commercials in which the can arrives by stage coach in Texas from Milwaukee.   In one commercial, the Tall Boy can is met on an old western street by the 12 oz standard can who will later take the can to a refrigerator.   This is drawing number 6 in a ten drawing storyboard where the Tall Can says that he came to Texas first to make a name for himself.  It is about 10 by 8 inches.  Please see my auctions for four drawings numbered 6 to 9.

According to the history of beer in America, Schlitz was the first company to offer Tall Boy beers in cans, defined as being either 16 or 24 ounces.   So this is an important historical item.
