A simply gorgeous design defines this beautiful fit & flare cocktail jacket and swing skirt by Ceil Chapman, from the 1950s.  The jacket closes with four silk-covered buttons and flares at the waist.  It has a generous collar with 3/4 length cuffed sleeves.  The silk skirt is fitted at the waist and swings effortlessly as you turn.  It has a narrow waistband with a zipper and hook and eye closure in the back.  The black on black dotted silk is so elegant.  Both the jacket and skirt are unlined and the outfit is completely made by hand.

The condition is very good, especially for its age.  There is a flaw in the raised collar on the left side in the area at the shoulder just below the ear. When you flatten the collar you can see a frayed hole positioned where the collar folds.  This is harder to see when the collar is folded but we have included 3 photos to illustrate this damage.  It could be patched on the under side to be even more subtle that it is now.

There is no size tag, but we photographed it on our size 8 mannequin and it fit her perfectly.  Please see the detailed measurements for an exact fit.  It has been recently dry-cleaned.
