This is a Paul Cardew teapot from the 1990's. I purchased it direct from his shop in Bovey Tracey, England, in about 1997/1998. It has sat in my china cabinet for its entire life - only taken out to be dusted. The attention to detail on these teapots is truly amazing and I have tried to show that in the photos.
Paul Cardew is probably one of the worlds best known producer of novelty teapots and some of his large teapots (like this one) could take more than a week to  produce from concept through to finished product. Many of his 'special' teapots are decorated with 18kt gold, Silver or Platinum making them even more special.
I believe the large teapots hold 3 cups but I know that filling the teapot with water could increase the chance of crazing down the line and I absolutely do not want to do that. Although this is a fully functioning teapot it deserves to be coveted and enjoyed for the piece of art that it is.
Paul has been retired since 2008 so these teapots are becoming harder to find.
