Buckley was born in Staten Island, NY, and became popular as an American Artist after a move to the Amish and Mennonite Community in Pennsylvania, where she was impressed with the Amish loving their land, their family and tradition.  Her Art often includes Amish families, children, animals and the outdoors.  Her Art is  known for her communication about traditional standards in our universe.  This painting is a little girl, sitting in a big chair, waiting to go to the party,  wearing a beautiful party dress.  She is not an Amish girl, just an American girl.  Done in mostly blues with a little pink.
