Deuter With Blacks (The Outdoor Experts) Vintage 1990's Air Contact 25 Litre Pack.

Deuter the manufacturer of super durable, well made, functional walking and climbing packs built a range for the UK retailer BLACKS some decades ago, when Blacks were a respected outfit.

I don't know the exact litreage but my experience tells me it's about 25 litres.

Fully featured like their whole range, the feature set includes:

YKK zippers throughout, a proper haul loop, a well proven vented back system, padded hip fins, sturdy internal frame, side compression straps, 600denier nylon face fabric, ice axe/trekking pole strap.

It's been used a great deal but like all of my kit it's been well looked after, and Deuter's build quality is right up there.

All the stitching is still sound and there are zero fabric wounds. Scratches and marks exist of course (it's 20 plus years old) but it will happily function for another twenty.

Shoulder strap foam is still firm, and intact as is the foam in the hipbelt.

Some of the PU coating has peeled (see the photos) which is inevitable with a pack of this age. But as I've stated on here in the past when selling backpacks, this is irrelevant to the carrying comfort, and to those who use waterproof pack liners to keep their kit dry.
