Description: Item no. : 510002807 Item Name: 1:48 Junkers JU-87B Stuka Bat.o.Brit. The stand model is a replica of the Junker JU-87B Stuka Bat. O Brit. The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was a two-seater diving bomber / ground attack aircraft. It flew for the first time in 1935 and made his battle debut in 1936 as part of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. The plane was easy to spot on the inverted seagull wings and fixed landing gear. The design of the Stuka involved several innovative features, including automatic pull-up dive brakes under both wings to ensure that the aircraft recovers from its attack dive even when the pilot was blackened by acceleration. In the first phases of World War II it soon became the legendary aircraft of the German Lightning War, where it supported the armoured divisions of the Wehrmacht from close distance. It was also used by the Air Force during the air battle around England where its weaknesses were noticed in comparison to the faster and better armed, more modern fighters such as Hurricane and Spitfire.
