This is our new very sustainable mahogany SaRaiFo* Wood with a very fine and noble striped structure. The starting material is very sustainable poplar veneer that is separated from defects, very highly compressed and then pressed back into a block. The density is about 850Kg/m3!. This SaRaiFowood is pressed/surface glued (E1) from many fine real wood veneer lamellas in several production processes and then sawn into a board or plank.

The board is only in the raw cut, partially still slightly rough sawn, whereby the saw cut is already very fine and no longer quite so coarse/rough (some cross marks are only from sawing and go away after complete sanding/planing, one side was slightly pre-planed. The Strength may
+/-0.5mm vary as well as the Broad lies mostly between 21-21.5cm , dry, to approx. +/-13% dried in a drying chamber!

Areas of application: Furniture, worktops, decorative wood, shelves, strips, handles, instrument parts, jewellery, wood turning,... and many more individual areas. See the difference between before and after in the photos. The ends have been protected against cracks with a green wood preservative (see photos), unfortunately there are now and then a few green stains on one side - all of which can be sanded down. For the best possible smooth surface, sanding the wood is recommended anyway! The dimensions are given with minimum and maximum values.  You will receive one piece.

We sometimes add a few examples to the photos to show what the wood might look like after machining - this is to inspire you - these photos are for example purposes only and the items are not part of this offer! Please send us your photos too!

* SaRaiFo = Save the RainForest:
If you process this wood or veneer from it, you contribute to the fact that the tropical tree population is somewhat relieved and thereby protected. This SaRaiFo Wood can be used as a substitute for mahogany sapele, sipo or khaya wood. By purchasing SaRaiFo products, you can contribute your own personal part! SaRaiFo wood veneers and solid woods are made from peeled veneer of very fast-growing types of wood (usually Ajous, poplar, linden). The veneers are freed from wood defects and glued/compacted/pressed into a solid block in many different optimized production steps, in order to then use a special process to cut and saw designer veneers or solid wood from real wood.

Advantages of these SaRaiFo wood products:

Relief of already endangered tropical tree species such as ebony, rosewood, teak, zebrano ect.
- much less waste
- no typical (unexpected) wood defects such as cracks, knots, ingrowths, heartwood, sapwood...
- Time and cost savings in processing
- simpler processing (can be easily sawed, drilled, milled....)
- consistent optics always available in large quantities
- Back of veneers are laminated/reinforced with fleece (easier handling, cutting, processing, much more stable)
- natural wood surfaces/decor
- large areas (instead of narrow strips) up to 64-66cm wide for veneers
- almost every wood design is feasible - contact us if you want to implement new ideas (only from 1m3!)
- now also available in many new different types of solid wood (density: approx. 850-1000kg/m3)

- SOON AVAILABLE:

Stabilized wood - veneers soaked in resin, colored in different colors, highly compressed, hard and heavy (approx. 1.1-1.3ton/m3), water-repellent, pressed into a solid block! Ideal for turners, bow making, knife handles or handles of all kinds, jewelery and much more. Ask us!
