A tiny ( about 2" tall ) beautiful DEEP TEAL GREEN colored oval tear drop shaped antique PILL flask.  This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a GROUND top, dating back to the late 1800's, well over ONE CENTURY OLD !

• Bottle embossed:  "LACTOPTEPTINE / FOR ALL / DIGESTIVE AILMENTS", with pic of CROSS and the letters "NYPA", which stand for "New York Pharmaceutical Association".

• Condition:   Bottle is in nice clean condition. The ground lip has typical roughness from the manufacturing process but otherwise the bottle is nearly perfect, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. The little tin cap is NOT original to the bottle and it has some slight denting.  Otherwise the cap fits okay and works, and gives it that complete look.  PLEASE SEE PICTURES for overall idea of appearance and condition of bottle, label, and cap.

These little oval shaped hand blown pill bottles are always popular among collectors. They were made in this shape so they could easily fit into a pocket or purse but as time went on, they were eventually replaced with tin containers and eventually paper tubes, much like Tums or Rolaids come in today. Like Tums and Rolaids, these were Digestive Tablets (for treating heart burn, upset stomach, etc.) but the LACTOPTEPTINE title gave them a much more medically correct sounding term. What is special about this is the beautiful EXQUISITE GREEN color, very nice. In summary, what makes this an exceptional bottle is: 1) An attractive HEART SHAPED bottle. 2)It is a beautiful TEAL GREEN color. 3) It is fully embossed w/ picture of a CROSS on it and 4) it is an early hand blown into mold bottle.
