Each year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art releases a silver snowflake and a gold star ornament, each inspired by a different item in their collection. These ornaments are beautiful heirlooms that look spectacular on a tree or displayed on their own.

I’ve been collecting these ornaments for years now and have gathered many duplicates along the way, which I have listed here.

The original ornaments (as sold by The Met Store) come with with a box, a protective sleeve made of silver cloth, a paper insert that lists the details of the design inspiration, and the ornament itself. Not all of these items are included for every year that is listed. Please refer to the listing photos to see what is included.

All ornaments are silver or gold plated brass and are approximately 3 x 3 inches, with the exception of the ornaments labeled “miniature.” Those are approximately 1.25 x 1.25 inches.
