SMITHSONIAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO KNOWLEDGE   Volume XV    Published by The Smithsonian Institution, City of Washington - 1867, First Edition

The book contains a large section titled Geological Researches in China, Mongolia, and Japan by Raphael Pumpelly, and another smaller section Fresh-Water Glacial Drift of the Northwestern States by Charles Whittlesey, plus one on Neptune, and another on The Arctic

This hardcover book measures 9 1/2" X 12 3/4" - approximately 600 pages, with maps and charts (some in color), plus some B&W plates.

Since this is an ex-library book, it has some of the usual stamps, stickers, marks, etc. The book has green boards, with gold inlay on the spine. The front board is detached, and some of the spine is missing (see image). The corners are bumped and worn. Otherwise, the spine is firm, and the pages are tight.
