・A Kogatana (Japanese traditional small knife) is classified as a kind of swords, but it has a long history of having been used for everyday purposes, such as cutting paper and other things as a stationery.
●Brief Personal Record of Kunihira Kawachi
Born in Osaka, Japan in 1941, Kawachi started his career as a modern swordsmith under the tutelage of two Living National Treasures of Japan, Syohei Miyairi and Masamine Sumitani.
As a Contemporary Master Craftsman, he received the Outstanding Technical Skills Award from the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan in 2010. Moreover, he was awarded Medal with Yellow Ribbon from Japan in 2014 as well as Masamune Award, the top prize of Exhibition of Newly Made Swords 2014.
He has held many exhibitions in Japan and has also devoted himself to the preservation and research of cultural assets.

・The small sword is an item that does not require registration of a certificate with the Board of Education of each local Japanese municipality, as is usually the case with Japanese swords, in order to possess it.Therefore, this item does not come with a registration card issued by the Board of Education.
・Also, you do not need to obtain permission from the Japanese Cultural Affairs Agency to legally export swords from Japan, so there is less delay in shipping than with regular Japanese swords.
