A pair of Japanese vintage, Hina matsuri musician dolls, (two of original set of five). These were part of a very fine set of dolls with brocade costumes and gold kin-ran (gold thread) and gofun (oyster paste heads and hands) and glass or crystal inlaid eyes, and organic possibly horse hair.

Unfortunately the taller doll has a serious patch of gofun missing from his forehead.

This doll may be a candidate in a collection for a brave doll lover who has a tender hand for repair.
