The Pobeda watch brand was conceived and produced in connection with the anniversary of the victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War, starting in 1946, and the name itself and even all the technical parameters were approved by Stalin himself (in 1945).

The marking of the mechanism of this watch was K-26. It was assembled on the famous French caliber R-26, which was sold by the Lip watch company, and this particular mechanism turned out to be very, very successful both structurally and in terms of operation - it was possible to make one winding for two days, which was a rarity at that time .

   In those days, buying a Pobeda watch was a great success, since they were just beginning to be produced and were not on sale everywhere. Typically, such a mechanism contained 15 stones made of artificial ruby, and the balance did not have shock-proof properties; moreover, the dial had a side seconds hand rather than a central one.

    The first Pobeda watch (in a prototype version) was manufactured by the Penza Watch Factory at the very end of 1945, and the first production watch based on this prototype was assembled by the Kirov Watch Factory (March 1946).

     Then, until the middle of 1954, the production of the Victory went on at the 1st Moscow Watch Factory, after which, due to the success and reliability of the model, the technical documentation was transferred to other watch factories, namely: the 2nd Moscow Watch Factory, ChChZ and also to the Maslennikov Factory . By the way, ZIM produced Pobeda for about forty years, the price of which was no more than 27 rubles (in the 80s).

   It was a popular watch among the citizens of the USSR, and at that time it was already quite easy to buy a Pobeda watch, since the supply in the retail chain was sufficient and the price was not high. Therefore, they were very popular watches, they were often used as awards for various kinds of merit.
