illustrations. Author’s first book. The author is convinced to go west
by her husband, 'Nimrod', better known as writer & artist Ernest Thompson
Seton, and here recounts the tale. Includes a chapter of advice for women
interested in camping - air mattress & heated plates being key, plus not
being disgusted into doing the cooking. *Grace Gallatin was born on
January 28, 1872 and in 1888 she began writing articles for San Francisco
newspapers under the pen name of Dorothy Dodge. Grace had married Ernest
Seton-Thompson in 1896. In 1900, Seton published her first book, A
Woman Tenderfoot, which described her trip on horseback through the Rocky
Mountains. 361 pages. Some mild cover soiling and bumped corners. Front hinge
is weakening. Spine is faded a bit, but still readable.
