This is a work by Yoshinori Takemura, a ceramic artist who pursues "a combination of form and color.
He explains that the variety of glazes is of course one of my characteristics, but it is not the image of "production preceded by the study of glazes," but rather the pursuit of "the fit of color to form. Rather, it is the pursuit of "how the color fits the form," and as a result, the number of colors has increased without knowing it," he says.
He stares at the blank shapes after unglazing, and when he has an idea of color, he applies glaze just "like applying clothes. Whether it is the meticulous glaze mixing or the delicate shapes, he says, "I do very simple things and simply think about how to create something interesting in the process.

Born in 1980 in Chiba Prefecture. Ceramic artist and restorer.
He first encountered ceramics while studying woodworking and lacquerware. He studied restoration of cultural properties, and while researching and restoring old ceramics, he was also involved in the restoration of ceramics and lacquerware by applying lacquer techniques. Currently, while working as a ceramic artist and restorer, he also teaches at the pottery studio "Orange," which he opened in 2008.
