Screen Printed Silk

Indian Feather Headdress

Fascinating old piece of screen printed silk fabric.

Early 20th century perhaps.

The design is of an incredibly colourful Native

American Indian Chief's feather headdress.

The back is almost as good as the

front as shown in second last photo

on white background.

The slightly curved half circle shape makes

you think it was for some kind of collar.

The edge is stitched all the way around.

It really is a spectacular piece of vintage

 textile design.

CONDITION

In very good original condition showing

considerably few signs of age for

a piece of vintage textile.

No moth holes, tears, fading or stains.

The stitched edge has come away

a little in the centre - should show up

in the photos. About 1cm long.

The tips of it are not perfectly executed

with some stray threads on one.

DIMENSIONS

It measures roughly 35cm wide tip to tip

 (13 1/2" approx.)

and the narrowest section in the

centre is 17.5cm deep (approx. 7")
