This is a BEAUTIFUL hand made and hand painted kalimba musical instrument made in Nigeria.  It is made from a gourd that has been cut in half and covered with a fitted wood plate.  It is approximately 7 inches in diameter.  The kalimba is a percussion instrument that has metal keys of different lengths that play a group of notes.  It's quite interesting and a lot of fun.  This kalimba was made for the tourist trade, and is a souvenir.  It features a painted face with birds and plants.  There is a leather strap attached to the top so it can be hung on a wall as well.  This kalimba is in GREAT CONDITION.  The keys are not bent and the sound is AMAZING.  The gourd is in good condition.  There is a separation crack on the bottom of the face where it meets the gourd.
