original 1872 edition of 'Die Heilige Bibel' published in Philadephia by P. W. Ziegler -- this is a very rare German language Edition of this work -- begins with Dr. William Smith' abridged 'Dictionary of the Bible' also in German; and includes the Old and New Testaments and the Apocrypha --
-- many full page plates by Gustav Dore among other artists ['Judith' picture is insane!] --
-- OT and MT have 878 pages - the Apocrypha has 144 pgs. --
-- large 'Superfine Edition' measuring 10 by 12 3/4 in.  --

  --  some wear: the cover has corner rubbing and overall moderate wear  - it is detached from the pages -- -- front endpapers and title  page are badly worn -- pages are in pretty nice condition as are the plates I looked at, though many of the parchment sheets are crinkled -- not sure where the concordance is supposed to end and there is obvious wear to the back endpapers/photo sleeve pages as well  --
