- Both covers are bound to the spine, and the spinal covering is intact - The first 18 pages of the book are either detached, or are holding onto the rest of the binding by a thread - No pages appear to be missing - The rest of the binding is strong and intact, and there are no other loose pages
- There is ornate handwriting in the middle section of the book, on the "Holy Matrimony Certificate" and on the "Births" and "Family History" sections - This handwriting is done in black, red, blue and gold ink - The "Deaths" and "Marriages" sections in the middle of the book remain blank
- Numerous scratches and scuffs on the leather covers from age and handling, along with natural color wear and deterioration of the leather from age - Includes some small spots of surface wear and chipping around the edges, mainly on the corners
- Some crimps, bends, folds and small margin tears on the pages from age and handling
- Numerous small discoloration/browning/foxing spots on the pages from age
- There are numerous small margin tears along the borders of the photograph pages at the end of the book
- A few dried flowers and leaves were tucked between a few pages of the book, to be saved as mementos by a previous owner
