Meticulously Refurbished 1958/1959 Vacuum Tube Radio

This expertly restored Vacuum Tube Radio, originating from the late 1950s, represents a meticulous preservation effort. It retains all original components, such as knobs, buttons, and trims, which have been thoroughly cleaned with Isopropyl Alcohol to ensure both aesthetics and hygiene. All contact have been cleaned with contact cleaner for normal performance.

This heterodyne radio supports multiple wavebands, including Long Wave, Short Wave, Medium Wave, and Mono FM, characteristic of its era. The restoration process involved the replacement of all paper capacitors and electrolytic, eliminating the toxic Selenium contained in the old rectifier bridge. Additionally, some tubes, including the magic eye, were replaced.

The original cabinet exhibits minor cracks and scratches, revealing historical manufacturing methods. Notably, the radio features an audio input port, enabling Bluetooth device integration for exceptional audio quality.

Caution is advised, as some tubes produce substantial heat, and operating the device unattended is discouraged. Never attempt to remove the back panel while the radio is powered, as it operates at approximately 300 volts, necessitating well-ventilated placement to prevent overheating.

An external antenna enhances reception for Short Wave broadcasts globally. Also the external antenna improves FM/AM signal quality for local stations. The radio does have a ferrite antenna for AM and a loop antenna embedded in cabinet for FM reception. The Radio has an audio equalizer, offering tailored audio enhancements for various content types, including music and voice.

The radio dial is lighted and on dark room will look very nice not mentioning the Magic Eye that bring the visualization to a higher level - see attached pictures.

Note: this radio has full scale band for FM 88 to 108 MHz, this is the USA version and the outlet voltage is 110 Volts. Most of the European radios for that time has the FM band only 88 to 100 or 103 MHz, so this one is good for the today FM band available in most of the countries. For other voltages, you will need a step-down transformer that can handle at least 50 watt.
