This vintage celluloid jewelry box features a romantic Victorian art design with an embossed finish. The rectangular box has a cream color and measures 9.5 inches in length, 7.5 inches in width, and 2.5 inches in height. It comes with a lid and is perfect for all occasions, making it a great addition to your decorative collectibles. The jewelry box is an original piece from the 1920s-1940s, with an unknown country/region of manufacture. It shows a picture of Othello and Desdemona, making it a unique find for collectors. The box is made of celluloid material and has a theme of art and romance. It can be used to store your jewelry or other small items.

I love old things and if you do also, you will love this jewelry box.  It is in good sturdy condition but with some stains or discolorations from the age.  I do believe this is made from Celluloid.  It may be Bakelite, but I am convinced it is Celluloid.  I did not try to remove any of the stains or fix anything as I did not want to make anything worse.  I did do some research or restoration, and it can be done, I guess, but again I did not want to take any chances.  Myself I like the look of "old things".  So if you want to have things look like new you will not want to purchase this box.  The latch works great.  The box itself is still sturdy.  The inside needs a little attention, with reattaching the rope trim on the inside of the lid and the fabric on one side of the divider is starting to shred.  All the colors in the photos are pretty much just like they are on the box.  You can see the original color on the sides, I guess where it was protected from heat and such.
There is a picture on the top of it that was painted by K. Bekker of Othello & Desdemona, maybe 1787.  It is very good condition still.
