Antique 'The Book of Common Prayer', Leather, Ivorine, Gilt Brass Casing & Clamp, c1850.

This is a wonderful antique book in superb condition. It has a leather bound spine with gilt tool work, a hard back with a celluloid ivorine cover, it has a gilt bras trim or casing and clasp. Gold gilt page edges that are red when opened. The spine has the title 'COMMON PRAYER'

The full title is:

The Book of Common Prayer, and Administration of the Sacraments, and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, According to the use of the United Church of England: Together with the Psalter or Psalms of David, Pointed as they are to be Sung or Said in Churches: And the Form and Manner of Making, Ordaining, and Consecrating of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons

London: HAenry Frowde,

The book is undated, but has an inscription in the front dated May 5th 1878.

The book is being offered in good antique condition, the only real issue is that the front cover is lifting slightly along one edge, I have made no attempt to rectify this. The pin in the clasp hinge had been slightly protruding, as seen in some photos, I have pushed it back into position, as seen in some photos.
