This bone china dessert plate was made by New Hall circa 1820-27 , it is from the Pat Preller collection and bears her label and pattern number 2623 on the base .
It is decorated with a scene from Thomas Rowlandson's character Doctor Syntax , it has a white moulded flowers border  with panels of hand painted flowers in a cobalt blue ground and enriched with gilding .
The scene is named Dr Syntax tumbling into the water .
It measures 8 1/2" in diameter .
It is in good condition with no chips or cracks and no glaze crazing , the gilding is good with just slight wear on the edge and some wear to the inner well caused from stacking .
Please see my other items for more Dr Syntax wares and lots more New Hall from the Pat Preller collection , and add me to your saved sellers .
I will be listing lots more New Hall from the Pat Preller collection over the next few months , due to Pat thinning out her large collection .
