Extreme Incantations was a spellbook written by the witch Violeta Stitch, sometime prior to 1932. Professor Filius Flitwick employed this textbook for his second-year Charms students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to read throughout the summer holidays so that they could learn the Lumos Maxima charm, covered in chapter thirty-two. Harry Potter owned a copy of this textbook, and practiced the said charm underneath his bed covers in his bedroom at 4 Privet Drive during the summer holidays without getting caught.
