Max the front bit comes to 11.5inches - around the height of a size 6 shoe - that’s not accounting for the drawstring gather - technically 10inches internal height (plus bear in mind if you pull the drawstring tight the space narrows at the top) - 13inches would be the maximum height of say a cardboard Amazon envelope you can put in it and close the flap.
