SILVER LIDDED JAR
Classic
hand cut crystal jar with
sterling silver
lid that would sit
on a
dressing table to receive all
manner of
items.
The crystal
or glass jar has a beautiful
Star cut
base and long diagonal
cuts around
the sides with cross
hatching.
The
sterling lid just sits on the jar
and is
decorated with the classic
striped
line engraving you see a lot
on this
type of item from this era
and a central cartouche that
hasn’t
been personalised.
The
sterling lid is fully stamped for:
Birmingham
1921
and the makers
stamp for:
Henry
Perkins & Sons
1909 to
1928
Silver mounters,
Tottenham Court Road,
London W
CONDITION
Condition is ‘used antique’ as can
be seen in the photos.
One not so big chip to rim of jar
and use related scratches to under
the base as there
should be for
100+ year old glass jar.
The sterling silver lid had some dents
as you should be able to see in
the photos but I’ve seen worse.
The lid still retains the gold gilding on
the underside.
Not so bad overall.
