antique dress/robe Victorian black velvet embroidered bust 38 lounge original

Antique black velvet dress/robe original19th c 1880s
1. Hard to say whether this is a dress or a lounge rob
2. only two stays, in the back
3. there is no support
4. the waist is larger than the usual Victorian dress
5. I am saying robe or possibly maternity dress
6. good condition but not perfect
7. I found 3 small tears, they could be mended
8. the fabric in the waist are is very fragile, probably from being hooked very often
9. fully lined, lining is silk and has damage
10. lots and lots of snaps and hooks, hand made I believe all hand stitched
11. does not open all the way to the bottom, opens about 3/4 of the way down
12. really stunning item but does need so help
13. heavy almost 3 pounds before packing
