This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing.   This sample features a William Edenborn patent, dated March 17, 1885.   This fencing wire is called "Edenborn's Light Gauge Two Point Open Wrap Running Barb" by collectors. (ref. Hagemeier 1060-B).  Hagemeier shows the running barb but not the light gauge.  This wire features two lighter gauge (13-1/2) round line wires twisted together.   Barbs are two pointed made by putting one point of barbing wire between the line wires and wrapping remainder around both lines in an open wrap style.     Sample shows light pitting.  Sample is 18" in length.  Sample has four barbs fairly well spaced, and fairly well centered.  Sample is in good used condition.
