The surface of the shaft is coated with fiberglass.
I used it as a break cue.
There is deterioration over time, small scratches, yellowing, dirt, and slight rust on the metal parts due to use, but nothing noticeable. It is relatively clean and does not seem to affect use.
I tried rolling the cue on the table, but I didn't notice any major warping. (However, it is not completely straight.)
