I don't know the origin of this but the beautiful workmanship on this feels native and quite old. But what indigenous culture produced it? It really looks like a museum piece to me. I see a lot of these horn scoops / spoons were produced by the Tlingit and Haida cultures. Some Tsimshian. I don't know if this is from one of those cultures. If so, it's worth about five times what i'm offering it for here. See all photos for condition. There is a minuscule crack at the tip of this, which does not penetrate all the way around the horn tip. See photos as I turn the item to show you the limited extent and how it is contained. When I research this, I keep finding incised spoon horns are associated with Northwest tribal cultures. And they seem to bring fabulous prices at auction. Much more than I am offering this for here.
