The extremely hard-to-find centerpiece artwork was created and signed by American modernist artist Lars Hawkes in the 1970s. It is an eye-popping vision of potted flowers, done in spectacular greens, yellows and blues, perhaps inspired by his home country of Norway.

Painted wood edges the canvas, at top and bottom, in keeping with the bold wall-art format used in the 1970s. It is ready for immediate hanging. It is in very good condition; the original artist presentation has been well loved. It is marked in a back corner with 9-4-5; not sure the significance. With framing, it hangs 36 ¼ inches by 35 ½ inches

His serigraphs, many of which were inspired by native American arts and crafts, are highly sought after.

A second Hawkes' piece accompanies this artwork, entitled “Oak Tree” on the back of the unsigned serigraph. Browns, yellows and greens dominate the artwork, also is in its original framing, ready for immediate hanging at 20 ½inches by 22 ¼ inches. On the back it bears a 1975 Lars Hawkes copyright imprint.

Hawkes, a 1987 Fresno State graduate, has seen his sculptures installed at the McGroaty Arts Center in Tujunga, CA, as well as the 170 freeway in North Hollywood, CA.
